Tailored programs to help you
recover, perform, and prevent injuries

Orthopedic Physical Therapy
Orthopedic Physical Therapy will help you return back to sport or activities of daily living following injury or surgery. It includes restoring joint mobility, flexibility, stability, muscle strength and power so you can get back to the important things in your life! Orthopedic physical therapy can include treatment of neck, back, shoulders, hips, knees, ankle/foot or elbow

ACL Injury prevention program
ACL tears are among the most challenging knee injuries in sports due to a long recovery time of 6-12 months after surgery. Female athletes are up to eight times more likely than males to experience an ACL tear from a non-contact injury. Luckily, research shows that a guided neuromuscular re-education jump program combined with hamstring and core strengthening can reduce the risk of ACL injuries.
At Brain & Body Physical Therapy, our goal goes beyond lowering the risk of re-tear or even prevention of a 2nd ACL on the opposite leg. We focus on preventing knee injuries altogether by training athletes before an injury occurs.
Our ACL Prevention Program is based on the proven Sportsmetrics model and tailored for teams and groups. The program includes:
- Baseline testing to assess current risk
- A 6-week course with three sessions per week
- Post-program testing to measure progress
Each session incorporates:
- Dynamic warm-up and stretching
- Plyometric training
- Speed and agility drills
- Strength training
- Cool-down stretching
This program is an excellent addition to preseason conditioning—helping athletes stay strong, resilient, and ready to perform.

Pilates Training
Pilates can be personalized to help athletes and nonathletes alike. With athletes, Pilates can be utilized for injury prevention and improved athletic performance. In non-athletes, the improvements made in core strength/stability, balance, coordination, mind-body awareness and power can help manage aches and pains allowing for improved participation in all aspects of life.

Post-Concussion Physical Therapy
Concussions can include a wide variety of symptoms that can impact many systems of the body. An initial evaluation will include a screening for vestibular, ocular, cervical and cognitive deficits. Patients no longer need to passively wait for concussion symptoms to resolve. Research shows that when carefully guided by a trained clinician in post-concussion physical therapy, post-concussion patients can experience improved recovery of balance, gaze stability, focus and mood to allow return to work, school or play. Symptoms can still improve in untreated patients even years after their injury.

Vestibular Physical Therapy
Vestibular physical therapy is designed to treat dizziness, vertigo and balance problems. At your initial evaluation, you will be evaluated for inner ear problems that impact the entire vestibular system and alter your balance and spatial orientation. Treatment will include a comprehensive plan that may include balance retraining, gaze stabilization, habituation exercises (to help desensitize the vestibular system), strengthening exercises and sometimes specific maneuvers to fix certain types issues with crystals in the inner ear (positional vertigo). Physical therapy can help train your brain to adapt to changes in your inner ear.
